School TOURS
We are excited to host tours of Denver Green School - Southeast! This spring, we will host periodic tours for families to learn more about our school. You are welcome to join if you were already accepted to DGS during Round 1, if you are considering DGS for Round 2, or you want to get ahead of school choice in later years.
If you were already offered a seat at Denver Green School Southeast following Round 1, you do not need to participate in Round 2.
Round 2 of School Choice is for:
Families who did not submit an application in Round 1 and would like their student to enroll in a different school.
Families who have changed their minds since submitting a Round 1 application and would like to re-explore their options.
All students in Denver who will turn five before October 1, 2026 can start kindergarten in August 2026. We encourage all families of rising kindergarten students to participate in the School Choice process. If you need help filling out the School Choice application, please feel free to contact the School Choice office, or stop by Denver Green School during school hours.
Denver Green School Southeast will offer tours on the following Thursdays from 9 am - 10 am.
Thursday, March 26
Thursday, April 30
Thursday, May 14
You can sign up using this form. Please fill out the form by 12pm on the day before the visit so we can be sure that we have enough staff ready to welcome you. If you have any questions, you can reach out to us at tours@denvergreenschool.org.
Overview of Denver Green School - Southeast
Our Approach to Kindergarten
At Denver Green School, we have an incredible kindergarten team. Our teachers, Mr. Robert and Ms. Garcia, both have more than twenty years of teaching experience. We have a full time paraprofessional in both classrooms to support our youngest learners. We believe that it is important to establish a welcoming classroom community for all students as they embark on their elementary experience. At the same time, we work to ensure that students develop essential skills in reading, writing, and math that will set the stage for success in later grades. Learn about our approach to supporting our youngest students from Mr. Robert and Mrs. Garcia.
Transitional Native Language Programming (TNLI)
We are excited to offer TNLI programming starting in the fall of 2025 in our elementary grades. TLNI programming is an option for students who already speak Spanish to receive literacy instruction in Spanish, with the goal of achieving biliteracy. Students in the TNLI program are placed in a class with students who receive all instruction in English. During literacy class, they work with a specialized teacher on grade-level in content in Spanish. Please note that this program is only available to support students who are already fluent in Spanish.
