NEW 2023/2024 Volunteer Background Check Process!

 If you want to help at a school, attend a field trip, or help in the classroom – apply using the new and improved online process DPS Volunteer Portal.  Please use this link to start the free volunteer background check process:

 EVERYONE MUST submit one even if you have completed an application in the past. This application is good for one school year so volunteers/chaperones will need to reapply each year.

For OVERNIGHT EXCURSIONS, or excursions where we need chaperones to take small groups that are not supervised by a DGS staff member, chaperones must complete an FBI fingerprint background check. 

This application will be good for as long as you are an active volunteer with DPS and you will not have to complete the application listed above each year.

When the form is complete you must email your students’ teacher so that they can alert DPS that the application should be processed. This process can take four weeks so please complete the application and email the Teacher immediately.
